Bathroom in Sutton Coldfield

Bathroom Project

This project was exciting to work on creating a bathroom in Sutton Coldfield as the property was over 100 years old and the space we were using to create a new bathroom was previously used as a storage cupboard.

With this bathroom being on the 2nd floor and would to sit next to the Master bedroom, my clients wanted a shower space with separate bath for relaxing in after a hard day.

We started by building the wall out at the shower end, as a dis-used chimney breast was making the wall uneven. This allowed us to fit a concealed shower for easy cleaning and create an alcove for storage of bottles. Incorporating an LED in the alcove added some ambient light when using the shower.

The bath was a freestanding J shape so we could get a good seal between the wall and bath, making it easier to keep clean.

To help the clients with rising energy bills, we decided to use underfloor heating on its own rather than with a towel rail as the room was naturally quite warm and underfloor heating is up to 40% more efficient than traditional heating methods.

Carefully selected products and placement was key in this room due to the severe slope in the room, but we think it came out great and the clients are thrilled!
